This Shipping & Delivery Policy applies to orders placed directly through valerievale.com. Orders placed through third-party platforms, such as Amazon, are handled according to the shipping and delivery information shown on that platform.
We ship worldwide via PostNL or another available carrier depending on the destination and service selected. Shipping costs and delivery estimates are shown at checkout before you place your order.
Shipping Rates
Shipping costs are displayed at checkout based on your destination.
Europe:
Free shipping where shown at checkout.
Outside Europe:
shipping is €4.99 where shown at checkout.
The total amount payable, including product price, applicable taxes where relevant, and shipping costs, will be shown before you confirm your order.
For shipments outside the European Union, your order may be subject to customs duties, import taxes, or handling fees imposed by your country. Unless explicitly stated otherwise at checkout, these fees are the customer’s responsibility and are outside our control.
We are not responsible for delays caused by customs processing.
Processing Time
Orders are normally processed and handed to the carrier within 1–3 business days, unless a different processing time is stated on the Product page, at checkout, or in your order confirmation.
During high-volume periods, new releases, pre-orders, or Limited Edition releases, processing may take longer if this is clearly stated before purchase or communicated to you.
Delivery Estimates (Typical)
Delivery times depend on destination and carrier conditions. Typical ranges:
Netherlands: 1–2 business days
Germany: 2–4 business days
Europe: 3–7 business days
Worldwide: 5–10 business days
These are estimates, not guarantees. Delays may occur due to customs processing, carrier disruptions, local delivery conditions, weather, peak seasons, or events beyond our control.
Unless a specific delivery timeframe is agreed at checkout or in your order confirmation, consumer orders will be delivered within 30 days after the order confirmation, subject to mandatory consumer protection rules.
Tracking
Tracking is provided when available for your destination/service. You’ll receive a shipping confirmation email with tracking details once your order is dispatched.
Address Accuracy
Please double-check your shipping address at checkout.
If a parcel is delayed, returned, or cannot be delivered because of incorrect or incomplete address details provided by you, you may be responsible for reasonable reshipping costs, except where mandatory consumer protection law provides otherwise.
Failed Delivery / Returned to Sender
If a parcel is returned because:
the address was incorrect,
delivery was refused, or
it wasn’t collected from a pickup point,
we may offer to reship the order. Additional shipping fees may apply. If a refund is issued instead, reasonable shipping, return, and handling costs may be deducted where permitted by law.
This does not affect any mandatory consumer protection rights.
Lost or Stuck Parcels
If tracking shows no movement for an unusual period, email us with:
your order number, and
the tracking number (if available).
We’ll investigate with the carrier and propose the fairest resolution available (replacement or refund depending on the outcome).
For consumer orders, we remain responsible for the Product until it is delivered to you or to a person designated by you, subject to mandatory consumer protection rules.
If the parcel is confirmed lost before delivery, or if the carrier cannot prove delivery, we will offer an appropriate solution, such as a replacement or refund, in accordance with applicable law.
Damaged Delivery
If your book arrives damaged, defective, incorrect, or incomplete, please contact us as soon as possible, preferably within 48 hours of delivery, at support@valerievale.com with:
your order number, and
clear photos of the book and packaging.
This helps us investigate the issue quickly with the carrier. Reports made later may take longer to investigate, especially if shipping damage is involved, but your mandatory legal rights remain unaffected.
